The battery details of the iPhone 16 series have leaked again. While the previous leaks suggested that all the 2024 iPhones will get a bigger battery under the hood, a fresh leak claims that the iPhone 16 Plus will launch with a smaller battery compared to its predecessor. This is quite surprising. If the leaks turn out to be true, then it would mean that there won’t be much of a difference in terms of battery life when compared to the iPhone 15 Plus.
Tipster Baby Baby Sauce on Weibo claims to have obtained the battery details of the iPhone 16 series. The cited source reports that the iPhone 16 will have a 3,561mAh, which is up from the 3,349mAh unit seen in the iPhone 15 model. Similarly, the iPhone 16 Plus is said to pack a 4,006mAh, smaller than the 4,383mAh unit seen in last year’s model.
The iPhone 16 Pro version is tipped to come with a 3,355mAh, slightly up from the 3,274mAh seen inside the iPhone 15 Pro version. The iPhone 16 Pro Max will have the biggest battery, which isn’t surprising because Max models are the most premium offerings from Apple and the best of what the company can offer. The company is said to equip the iPhone 16 Pro Max with a larger 4,676mAh battery. Comparatively, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a 4,422mAh battery under the hood. If reports are to be believed, the standard iPhone 16 series is getting between 2 percent and 6 percent more battery compared to their iPhone 15 counterparts.
Besides, rumours surrounding the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models hint at larger displays, with the Pro tipped to offer a 6.3-inch screen and the Pro Max featuring a bigger 6.9-inch canvas. However, this also raises concerns regarding the feasibility of one-handed usage with these increased dimensions. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are likely to maintain their predecessors’ screen sizes, while the potential addition of a 120Hz refresh rate for the standard iPhone 16 remains speculative.
The iPhone 16 Pro series is rumoured to debut with the advanced A18 Pro chipsets, while uncertainties loom over the standard models’ chipset configurations. Speculations suggest a modified A17 chip for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, though details remain scarce. Notably, Apple could also integrate graphene in Pro models for better thermal management during intense tasks. The iPhone 16 series is expected to launch in September this year.
